We’ll be hosting UP’s annual Community Planting. This year we will not be planting trees but rather establishing an ecosystem in the new stormwater runoff catchment at the corner of Woodberry and College Heights. Volunteers will plant approximately 250 plants (most of these being very small “plugs”) in a choreographed process that will take approximately 2- 5 hours.

Please join us for all or some of these hours for this historic event.

  4. Police Meet and Greet

    October 14, 2023, 4:00 PM
    @

    Church of the Brethren

Our first event since the pandemic will not be a lecture but a Meet and Greet of our police chief, Harvey Baker and the men and women of our small police department. You may have seen them walking the beat, patrolling in their police cars, or at community events but have never had a chance to talk with them. Chief Baker and his officers will review their backgrounds, how they became police officers and what makes them interesting members of our community. They are here every day to protect us and keep University Park safe. Getting to know them better benefits them as they do their job and us as we go about our daily lives in town. Please join us for an interesting afternoon. At Church of the Brethren, corner of Tuckerman Street and Route 1 with ample off street parking. More info: contact Lecture Series organizer Dave Brosch at davidcbrosch@comcast.net.
